Traveling to compete in international tournaments is never easy, especially when the stakes are high and the competition is fierce. This year, La U-USA took on the challenge of playing in one of Mexico’s biggest tournaments, held in Guadalajara. Our young players, from the 2012 and 2015 age groups, showed incredible skill and heart, advancing all the way to the quarterfinals. This journey was about more than just soccer; it was about growth, community, and the power of family.

Facing New Challenges in Guadalajara
Competing in a high-level tournament far from home means facing many obstacles. Our guest players come from a small village near Tequila, about two hours away from the tournament fields. Some traveled by regular buses, making long journeys just to play for La U-USA. This alone shows the dedication and passion these young athletes have for the game.
The tournament brought together some of the best youth teams in Mexico, making every match a test of skill and determination. The 2012 and 2015 teams both played fantastic soccer, pushing through tough opponents to reach the quarterfinals. This achievement speaks volumes about the quality of training and the spirit Coach Abarca has instilled in the players.
Building Connections and Support
Our experience in Guadalajara was not just about competing; it was also about building relationships. We want to express our gratitude to El Profe Adan from Fuerzas Basicas de Atlas, who helped connect us with guest players and supported our journey. His kindness and professionalism made a big difference.
We also owe a huge thank you to the families of our players. Their support, whether it was driving players to the bus stops or encouraging them from afar, was essential. Without their sacrifices, this adventure would not have been possible. The families of La U-USA have shown unwavering belief in the process Coach Abarca has designed, trusting that every challenge is part of a bigger plan for growth.
The Importance of Sacrifice and Team Spirit
Not every player could make it to Guadalajara due to various reasons, but that did not weaken our spirit. We understand that sacrifices are part of the journey, and those who stayed behind are still part of the La U-USA family. We believe there will be many more opportunities to compete and grow together.
This experience has strengthened our team’s bond. We are more than just players and coaches; we are a family that supports each other through every win and loss. The lessons learned in Guadalajara will fuel our determination in future tournaments and leagues.

Looking Ahead: Ready to Compete at a High Level
Our time in Guadalajara showed us that we are ready to compete at a high level. The experience gained from playing in such a competitive environment is invaluable. It prepares our players not only for future international tournaments but also for the challenges they will face in their soccer careers.
Coach Abarca’s vision for La U-USA is clear: build strong players who can face any opponent with confidence and skill. This journey was a step forward in that direction. We are proud of what we have accomplished and excited about what lies ahead.
Gratitude and Commitment to the Future
We want to thank everyone who made this trip possible: the families, the guest players, El Profe Adan, and of course, the players themselves. Their hard work and dedication inspire us every day.
As an institution, La U-USA is committed to continuing this path of growth. We know there will be challenges, but together we are stronger and ready to face anything. Our journey in Guadalajara was just the beginning.
